The worst thing for us is the lockdown

What does the business think about the recommendation to resume the mask mode?

The World Health Organization is calling on countries to bring back personal protective equipment. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said he was concerned about the increase in the incidence of COVID-19 and the number of deaths caused by sub-variants of the Omicron strain. According to the WHO chief, there is now “a serious gap” in the perception of the risk of the spread of the virus between the scientific community, political leaders and the public.

On July 13, the Moscow headquarters reported a sharp increase in the incidence of coronavirus in the city. Over the past week, the number of new cases of COVID-19 has increased by 57% compared to the previous one. So far, Moscow residents have only been advised to start wearing masks indoors.

To say that this will somehow affect us greatly is rather impossible. Certain habits have already developed during the pandemic. Another thing is that they quickly lost the habit of it, but everything can come back. If we are talking exclusively about the mask mode, then I do not expect any serious impact. The worst thing for us is the lockdown, restrictions on the operation of entertainment areas, catering, and restrictions on the operation of shops. Probably in that order.

We will see in what direction the market situation will develop. If the incidence continues to grow, then in any case there has already been experience, there will be no problems with PPE, since many companies in Russia already produce masks and all the necessary protective equipment on their own.
